Ultrasonic anemometer WUS4423 IED
Ultrasonic wind direction and speed sensor
The WUS4423 sensor by IED measures wind speed and direction thanks to its ultrasound transductors. Comparatively to traditional cup wind sensors, ultrasound sensors have a much higher reactivity to wind speed change, a very low speed start and offer a wind direction measurement without blindspots. Moreover, as they do not have moving parts, they are less susceptible to wear in harsh environments. The WUS4423 has a Modbus RTU over RS485 output which is partially configurable. The wind speed can be read directly in km/h or m/s. Both instantaneous and average speeds are available.
A version with a terminal resistance of 120Ohms is available on demand.
